This is very simple. This is the World Series, which comes down to which team can win 4 games first. Pitching is key in a short series. The Cards have money starters in Suppan and Carpenter, along with one of the best hitters in the history of baseball in Albert Pujols. The money line in this series is way out of wack, in my humble opinion. Depending on where you look, the Cards are 2-1 dogs, and the Tigers are 2-1 favorites.

I can't say who will win the Series, but I promise you that the chance of the Cards winning is much closer to 50/50 than 2-1. C'mon... these are the Detroit Tigers we're talking about -the same team that pulled one of the biggest chokes in the history of baseball in the last couple of months of the season. Also, keep in mind that the Cards have the experience of playing in the post-season. Their mediocre regular season record is a result of boredom more than anything. They've come close and they want it badly. They beat a NY Met team that on paper seemed superior. They'll at least give the Tigers everything they can handle.

The strategy is to look for the Cards to win the series getting 2-1 odds. If the Cards win one or two games early on, you can then look to take the Tigers on an individual game-by-game basis to hedge the series bet on the Cards.

For example, if you lay 100 to win 200 on the Cards, and it comes down to a game 6 with the Cards up 3-2 in the series, you can take the Tigers in game 6 SU. If the Cards then win game 6, you win less, but you still win money. If they lose game 6, you win your SU play on the Tigers, and repeat the same strategy for game 7.

This strategy illustrates one of the most important principles in sports betting. Namely, when you risk money betting on sports, you must do so with a plan, not just on random chance or emotions. The quickest way to lose money on sports betting is to take wild guesses and just throw money on the table for the thrill of gambling. Notice how the analysis of the World Series, whether it turns out to be accurate or not, is based on logic and reasoning, not on emotions. The winners in sports betting take money from the losers who can't control their emotions.
