Poker is without a doubt the most popular card game ever to be invented. It is played by friends at home, by professional players at poker clubs, and by millions of card game enthusiasts all over the world through the internet. And, while it is not considered a game of chance at all, poker has found its way in casinos, too - both online and in real life.

Casino poker is very different from the real thing, although it is based on the rules of different types of poker. Video poker builds on Five Card Draw, and there are several casino hold'em variants and other games inspired by hold'em or stud as well. Let us take a look at the casino poker versions you can find in the Royal Vegas online casino, one of the best endowed when it comes to table games.

1. Video poker

Video poker is among the most popular card games you can find among the Royal Vegas online poker games. There are many variations of the game, but all of them are played according to the rules of Five Card Draw. The Royal Vegas casino offers its players over 20 versions for browser play, and even more in its downloadable suite. Among them you can find versions like the Jacks or Better, Double Bonus Poker, All Aces, Deuces Wild and many others, in single or multi hand versions.

2. 3 Card Poker

A game invented in the mid-1990s, based on the rules of draw poker, but adapted to the needs of casino play. The player places an ante bet, is dealt three cards that are evaluated based on the poker rules. For a hand to be of any value, it needs to be at least Queen-high - both for the player and the dealer. The player can fold or play - in which case the Play bet - equal to the Ante - is placed. If The player wins, he receives even money. A popular game at the Royal Vegas, the three card poker is now almost extinct at land-based casinos.

3. Triple Pocket Hold'em

A game rarely seen at other casinos, but popular at the Royal Vegas. Based on the rules of Texas Hold'em, the game is played with three pockets. The player gets dealt two cards, which he can reject (in which case they go to the dealer's pocket) two times. When all the pockets are filled, the dealer will place five community cards on the table following the procedure known from Texas Hold'em - flop, river, turn - and the hand is evaluated. Winnings pay 1:1 except for valuable hands - Royal Flush will pay out 50 to 1.
