English bookmaker Ladbrokes is offering betting odds of 3/1 that singer and songwriter Sir Elton John will refuse to have his music used on X Factor this year following Simon Cowell's recent critical outburst.

The bookies suspect the music legend and former Watford chairman could make a stand against Cowell and not allow his songs to be bashed out on the reality show.

David Williams of Ladbrokes said: "Cowell has been pretty forthright in his opinions of Elton. The singer has a notorious temper and the X Factor chief could feel the backlash."

Ladbrokes offer odds of 50/1 that Elton will be a judge on this year's show and 4/1 that the new father will appear live on the show.
