The Kings Speech for Best Film, David Fincher for Best Director, Colin Firth for Best Actor and Natalie Portman for Best Actress. That is if the bookies odds are to be believed, tonight in California.

Irish bookmaker Paddy Power make all of the above hot betting favourites to scoop an award at this weekend's Academy Awards but there are whispers that a major upset could be on the cards in Hollywood.

Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for the bookmaker, said: "Despite the fact we’ve seen the odds crash for The King’s Speech we’ve taken more money and more bets overall on The Social Network. The Academy are notorious for producing a few shock surprises on the night so this year’s Best Picture category could be one!"

The Social Network, which tells the story of the founding of social networking site Facebook had initially been the bookies favourite to scoop the golden statue for Best Film but in recent weeks David Fincher's highly acclaimed biographical drama has drifted to as big as betting odds of 4/1.

The Oscars, hosted by James Franco and Anne Hathaway, takes place this Sunday at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles.
