Bookmaker Paddy Power Secures Jobs of London Betting Shop Workers

This Saturday bookmaker Paddy Power open up all five ex-Roar betting shops rebranded and refurbished in the known green colours. The Irish bookmaker took on five of Roar's ten shops following their administration, safe-guarding the jobs of 21 shop staff that were facing an uncertain future and honouring all previous bets made in the shops.

Of the shops acquired by Paddy Power, four are located in North London in Hendon, North Finchley, Golders Green and Kingsbury. The other outlet is in Mile End, East London, adding to the bookmaker's 101 stores in operation in London and across the United Kingdom.

A spokesperson of the betting company said: "It is really exciting to be opening all five stores on the same day and we’re looking forward to seeing local punters enjoying the new store and taking advantage of some of the great offers for the opening weekend."

As part of the opening celebrations Paddy Power will be giving away free bet flyers for customers to make their first punts in the shop along with some fun free gifts and promotional merchandise.

Throughout the day there will also be enhanced prices on various sporting events and customers can double their money on in-store roulette winnings with the throw of a giant dice.
