Irish bookmaker Paddy Power pushed England to a best-price of odds of 2/7 to beat Algeria with sme punters suspecting it may not be an easy ride for the Three Lions. The bookie reports just enough interest in a shock win for Algeria to cut the Africans to odds of 10/1 from 11s with the Three Lions previously at 1/4.

The draw has also come in from 5/1 to 9/2 however the patriotic punt remains the order of the day with a 3-0 England win at 13/2 almost as twice as popular than any other scoreline in the correct score market.

Darren Haines, spokesman for Paddy Power, said: "Whilst everyone is understandably waving the flag for England today there is just enough doubt out there to have us cut Algeria and the draw. Perhaps it’s pre-match nerves."

With England looking both shaky and slow in defence in their previous match the 2-2 draw has also been cut to betting odds of 25/1 from 30/1 and an unlikely Algerian 3-2 victory now 175/1 from 225/1.

In the first scorer betting Manchester United's striker Wayne Rooney is unsurprisingly the go to man for punters at 3/1 almost as much as he is for his England team mates although Chelsea's John Terry is proving almost as popular at odds of 20/1.
