Jose Mourinho has been slashed to betting odds of 1/5 to begin next season at Spanish giants Real Madrid after punters backed him off the boards to head to Spain this Summer.

Bookmaker Ladbrokes had offered odds of 4/7 that 'The Special One' would be bound for the Bernabeu - but those odds collapsed in less than 24 hours.

David Williams of Ladbrokes said: "It's been one-way traffic and the money suggests Mourinho will be bound for Real Madrid very soon."

Mourinho is out to 11/4 to remain at Inter for another season - and the English bookies seem convinced that a deal with the Spanish giants is imminent.

Mourinho's Inter are the 8/15 betting favourites to lift the European Cup and 6/5 to do so in normal time. Opponents Bayern Munich are the underdogs at odds of 7/5 to spring a surprise. The Germans had been at odds of 25/1 when the tournament kicked off last year.
