Bwin, a publicly listed provider of sports betting, casino games or internet poker, won the top prize of the online gaming industry. The 'EGR Operator of the Year 2009' was given to the Austrian company for the consistency of its services, its claim to leadership in the market, its brand strength and its commitment to responsible gaming.

Manfred Bodner, Co-CEO of bwin commented: "We are very proud of this prize and see in it an endorsement of our pioneering role in this industry."

Just a few weeks ago, the betting company won first place in the Power 50 ranking of the prestigious eGaming Review for the second time running. "Those awards show that bwin is setting standards in the industry and will continue to do so in the future," added Bodner.

The EGR Awards were presented for the fifth time in front of an audience of more than 900 guests in London.
