Scottish Premier League Betting - Rangers and Celtic May Have a Problem Soon
Underfire Old Firm clubs are beginning to be backed by punters to part with their managers, reports bookie Paddy Power.
With both sets of fans
booing home defeats in the last week Celtic's Tony Mowbray is 4/1 to not see out his first season in charge at Parkhead whilst Walter Smith, whose contract
actually expires in January, is 15/8 to depart Rangers.
A spokesperson of the bookmaker said: "At this stage we think both managers will be
backed by their clubs but the fact punters have expressed interest in such bets shows that the pressure is truly on."
Whilst Rangers financial
woes are well documented, Tony Mowbray's desire for Celtic to play more attractive football has seemingly led to Parkhead no longer being the
fortress it once was with just two home wins out of nine so far this season.
Paddy Power makes Walter Smith more likely to leave Ibrox before
Mowbray gets the boot from Celtic with Smith 1/2 to go before Mowbray at 6/4 whilst its 12/1 that both
managers have gone before the end of the season.
