FIFA World Cup 2010 Betting - Will Ireland Really Draw a Blank ?
The Republic of Ireland are 11/5 to qualify for the World Cup finals in South Africa after being paired with France in today's play-off draw.
Giovanni Trapattoni's side - at odds of 150/1 for the tournament win - are 1/3 to miss out ahead of their clash with the 1998 World Cup
winners.
Ladbrokes spokesman, Nick Weinberg, said: "The Republic of Ireland will go into the game full of confidence following their
performance against Italy. They face a France side that has struggled at times in recent campaigns."
"France inevitably are the favourites,
but the Irish will fancy their chances of springing a surprise", Weinberg continued.
