An experienced Paddy Power punter was one of eight winners of the record breaking £3.5m Scoop6 prize fund last Saturday.

The United Kingdom based customer invested £5,000 predicting various outcomes across each of Saturday's six Scoop6 races with one lucky combination hitting the jackpot and returning £437,011; a one-eighth share of the total prize fund.

The second-last leg was a particularly tricky proposition for the punter with only two horses representing him in the aptly named totescoop6 Millionaire Maker Handicap Hurdle where fifteen went to post. However apprehension quickly turned to relief when one his two horses, Heathcliff, cruised to an easy victory.

The 3.50pm in Lingfeld was the final leg of the record breaking Scoop6 and the luck of the Irish was obviously on loan to the Paddy Power punter. His selection, Duff, trained by Co Meath trainer Edward Lynam, also won easily and triggered a massive payday for the online punter.

"I wouldn’t mind finding out what this punters strategy was as it’s obviously paid off in spades. We’re delighted to be a part of this record breaking payout," a spokesperson for the Irish bookmaker said.

This is the biggest ever Scoop6 payout by the bookie to a single punter.
